Midweek Bible studies
Midweek small groups
Our midweek Small Group Bible studies are really important to our church life together at St Helen’s. Many of us find that meeting up with a small group of people during the week, to help one another understand God’s word better and to pray together, really helps us to grow in our relationship with God and with one another.
We run several Small Group evenings:
Read Mark Learn (RML) runs across Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings, depending on which Sunday service you are involved in and which book your group is studying. It looks at different parts of the Bible year by year, starting each September:
- Year 1, Mark's Gospel or John's Gospel
- Year 2, Paul's Letter to the Romans
- Year 3, a Bible Overview
Each RML group has a weekend away together during each of the three terms of the academic year.
We recommend starting with RML Mark or John as these are specifically designed for newcomers.

RML for students (including postgrads) runs on Wednesday evenings.
IGG (International Growth Groups) study the same books of the Bible as RML. We enjoy having Internationals across all of the different Small Group evenings. However, IGG is put on to help those from overseas who might struggle to feel at home in St Helen's main groups, with the intention of helping Internationals quickly settle in and integrate with the church family.
Central Focus is the small group evening aimed primarily at those who have already done RML, or whom attend the Sunday Morning service. However, it is also an excellent place to start if you are in your thirties (or above!) or have children.
To sign up for a small group, please email the church office or speak to one of the leaders at your Sunday service.
