Giving to support the Ministry at St Helen's

Thank you for taking time to consider supporting the gospel ministry of St Helen's Church among those working, studying and living in London.  By doing so, you will be investing in the advance of the gospel across this great city, throughout the UK and internationally.

Changing your Giving

You can change a Standing order at any time.  Please complete a My Gift to St Helens' form, including the Standing Order section, and return it to the Giving Secretary at least one month before you want the change to come into force.

If you change your giving via telephone or Internet banking, please notify us either via the Online Giving Notification form or by downloading the My Gift to St Helen's form.

You can cancel a Standing Order at any time by instructing your bank (we cannot do it for you).  Please let the Giving Secretary know.

Tax-Efficient Giving / Gift Aid

As St Helen's Church is a registered charity (No. 1131501), we can reclaim from the Inland Revenue the basic rate tax that donors have paid on their donations, if they complete a Gift Aid Declaration  - via the My Gift to St Helen's form or our Online giving notification form.

To qualify for Gift Aid you must pay UK income tax (and/or capital gains tax) at least equal to the tax reclaimed on your donations.  Gift Aid can be claimed on all gifts made in a given tax year (6th April - 5 April) providing that you pay sufficient tax during that tax year, even if the gifts are made before you started or after you ceased to pay tax.  There is no minimum amount or minimum term for Gift Aid.

If you pay tax at the higher rate you can claim further tax relief when submitting your annual tax return.  We cannot do this on your behalf.

It is very important that you advise the Giving Secretary soon as possible us of any changes in your name, address or especially your tax status.  Prompt notification of these changes will help us avoid claiming gift aid on donations which are not gift aidable.

If you are unsure whether you qualify for Gift Aid or you have any questions about tax-efficient giving, or if you need to cancel your Gift Aid Declaration, please contact the Giving Secretary.

Changes in your Situation

Please contact the Giving Secretary as soon as possible to advise of any changes in your situation - for example the amount or frequency of a Standing Order, if you stop or start paying tax or and particularly any change of name or address.
