Prayer

As a church we recognise that God is in control and we are completely dependent on him, so prayer is a vital part of everything we do.

We pray in our various meetings and small groups, many of us pray regularly in twos and threes and once a month we get together as a whole church family over supper to pray for the work of the church as a whole.

Monthly prayer suppers

Prayer suppers are usually held in St Helen’s on the last Monday of the month (please check the Dates for the Diary opposite). They are an opportunity for us to get together over supper, to encourage one another, to hear what is going on around St Helen’s and to pray for the work of the church as a whole. We meet at 6.30pm (for a prompt start at 6.45pm), break for supper from 7.30pm to 8.00pm and finish by 9.00pm. Click here to receive our monthly prayer diary by email.

Weekends away

Weekends away are a great opportunity to hear God’s word explained in more depth and to explore its implications for our lives through a series of talks/seminars, so that we become better equipped to serve Him. They also give us the chance to escape city life, stay in a comfortable venue outside London and get to know one another better. More…

Relationship Matters

Our occasional one-day Relationship Matters seminars look at how we relate to one another in the light of God’s word and how we can serve Him through our relationships. Each seminar looks at how we identify with those closest to us – spanning issues such as sexuality, singleness, marriage and parenting. Marriage Preparation

We run a three-session course, typically over three Monday evenings, for engaged couples to help them prepare for marriage. Led by experienced married couples from the Staff team and the church family, the course looks at the Bible’s teaching on marriage, and aims to give practical help on issues such as communication, setting priorities and the roles of husband and wife. We recommend signing up for the course as soon as possible after you are engaged to be sure of getting a place on a course before your wedding. Click here for dates of forthcoming courses. For more information and to sign up for a course, contact Doug Olsen on 020 7283 2231 or at neodjo@blueyounder.co.uk
