Quiet Times: Why you shouldn't bother making a New Year's Resolution

Posted by Amy on December 30, 2014

I’m prone, on January 1st, to making excessive numbers of wildly ambitious New Year’s Resolutions (e.g. I will keep my bedroom tidy. Ha! That one never even gets out of the starting blocks...). Unachievable goals aside, lots of our resolutions are laced with great intentions. It’s often when many of us resolve to get back into the habit of having a regular Quiet Time. So how can we make this resolution last longer than the time it take Continue reading…

I Will Survive (the Christmas Holidays)

Posted by Amy on December 22, 2014

It’s the Christmas Holidays and there are nearly 3 weeks to go until Bible studies get back up and running. Lots of us will be away from London for some of that time, and that means being away from church and away from Christian mates.

30 minutes with Kevin de Young

Posted by Tim on December 12, 2014

Many of us will have come across Kevin de Young through his very helpful books (e.g. Just Do Something, Hole in our Holiness). Back in February, he preached at the 6pm and then Jamie grilled him about some of the topics that he's written about. It was a hugely helpful interview, and so we thought we'd share it again here.

Click here for the recording >>> (you'll need to click on the video recording rather than the audio to get the post Continue reading…

The Tyranny of 'Free Love'

"The following is excerpt from William Taylor's recent talk on Matthew 12:9-14: "This is what religion always does with Jesus. Rather than embrace Jesus’ free offer of a living relation with God as a result of sins forgiven through his work on…
