Posted by City Team on March 24, 2014

We gave over a Tuesday and a Thursday lunchtime talk earlier this month to consider if Christianity ruins our lives. Charlie Skrine, who oversees the student work here at St Helen's, answered with three points:

1. Yes... we've got to give up our lives lived for us.

2. But... our lives (the lives lived for us) weren't so great anyway.

3. And... giving up life for Jesus is the only way to gain our lives.

What if my life depends on getting the right answer?

Posted by City Team on May 22, 2013

On Monday 13 May, 34 teams gathered for the inaugural St Helen's Pub Quiz, at The Alice on Houndsditch. What if Christ hasn't been raised?

Posted by City Team on April 4, 2012

At the St Helen's Easter service on Tuesday, David Cook spoke from 1 Corinthians 15 to give us the executive summary for Easter (download the recording on our website).

Here is the executive summary as Paul received it from Christ, as the Corinthians received it from Paul, and as we receive it today by reading Paul's letter to the Corinthians.  Easter's executive summary: (1) that Christ died for our sins, (2) that he was buried, (3) th Continue reading…

"The following is excerpt from William Taylor's recent talk on Matthew 12:9-14: "This is what religion always does with Jesus. Rather than embrace Jesus’ free offer of a living relation with God as a result of sins forgiven through his work on…
