Student Bible Study Groups

There’s no better way to grow as a Christian than through studying God’s word and meeting with other Christians to encourage one another. Read Mark Learn (RML) are our Bible study groups which run on Wednesday nights for students during term time. In our RML groups we look at Mark, Romans and a Bible Overview. As a newcomer, Mark is the best place to start. We have food together before the study (if you want!), and then split into groups of about 10 people. You’ll stay with your group all year, so it’s a great opportunity to build some really good friendships.

There is also time to pray together and encourage one another in evangelism. No qualifications are needed. Just come along!

Supper: 7:15pm
Start: 8:00pm
Finish: 9:30

Dates 2009/10:
Autumn: 30 September* - 16 December 2009
Spring: 13 January - 24 March 2010
Summer: 28 April - 9 June 2010

* Student Night begins with a welcome party in St Andrew Undershaft on 30 September.  After that we meet each week in St Helen's.

To join a group you can sign up here.

If you are a postgraduate student we would love to see you on a Wednesday night, when we have some specific postgrad groups so you will be with others in similar situations.

Wednesday night is specifically for students, but if you can't make that then you might want to check out other RML nights.

We also run a couple of special weekends and some training sessions for students.

What some of our students have said about RML:

“RML opens up the Bible very well and enables it to speak for itself, which it does powerfully, and that's exciting! It’s the first Bible study group I've actually enjoyed going to!” James

“Studying Mark in a small group was a great opportunity to look deeply into the life and claims of Jesus and one that has given me great assurance in His person and promises and reminded me of the great relevance He holds to my life. It has been hugely encouraging to join in the joys and struggles of students from across the city as we seek to grow in and proclaim Christ together across our campuses.” Julien

“RML was a fantastic way for me to become part of the church; I began to build friendships with people, I began to grow as a Christian, learning more about Jesus and his word and I started to want to know how I could serve the church better because I saw what a blessing it was to me. You may keep hearing people say "Get stuck into RML" but they only say it because it will be great for you.” Lauren

“RML is the best way to get to know people quickly when new to St Helen's, as well as a great way to get into regular weekly study of God's Word and to give and receive help in understanding it.” Chris
