Exodus 34:4-35

Grace sufficient?

Is grace enough? You might think, 'of course it is enough, how could you even doubt it?' But what if we rephrase the question: is the kind of grace where the Lord freely chooses, for no reason other than his character, to forgive us? Is that enough? Will that rescue us? We'll see from Exodus that glorious though that grace is, we need more: we need the sort of grace that is going to do something to change us. Grace must mean more.
