Luke 14:25-35

No small print

Throughout this chapter, Luke has been showing us why the religious establishment of Jesus' day has refused to enter the narrow gate. But in this passage, Jesus turns to us, the reader. What does the establishment's rejection of Jesus mean for us? Jesus urges us to sit down and to count the cost—the high cost of following him and the even higher cost of refusing to follow him.
