God is in charge of all that happens

Keep calm, God is in control. He created the world and everything in it, and continues to sustain it through Jesus (Genesis 1; John 1:1-3; Colossians 1:15-16). God controls all areas of life—nature, our choices, even random events (Matthew 6:25-34; Proverbs 16:33; Jonah 1:7). He decides where we live, when we die, and what happens to us each day (1 Samuel 2:6-7; Acts 17:26; Psalm 139:16). Even though we make choices, God is still in control of how things turn out, including the way he uses evil in his plan (Genesis 50:20; Acts 2:23). Understanding that God is in control should remind us to stay humble and trust him more (James 4:13-16; Proverbs 21:1).
