Jeremiah 32:1-44

A people planted

After the dizzying heights of the promise of a new covenant from the previous chapter, this passage is seemingly much earthier and grittier. Jeremiah is told to buy a field in a war zone. Why would God ask Jeremiah to do such a thing? We’re confused, as was Jeremiah; until that is, God speaks yet more glorious promises than before!
