Do we see God as he truly is — or have we tamed him in our minds? In Isaiah 6, the prophet is granted an awesome vision of the Lord, high and exalted, blazing with holiness. Confronted with the searing purity of God, Isaiah sees with painful clarity the ruin of humanity — and his own. Before the throne of the Holy One, all illusions are stripped away.
