Ephesians 2:1-10

Discoveries in Acts

The book of Acts isn’t just a record of gospel advance—it’s the story of world reunification through the gospel. Luke shows that Jesus, enthroned and active, continues his mission to bring together divided peoples into one holy, diverse family. Acts celebrates unity-in-diversity: the Spirit’s gift of languages in Acts 2 reverses Babel’s confusion, the apostles embody the foundation of one global Church, and Cornelius’ inclusion marks the full welcome of the nations. At every turn, it’s Jesus—not human strategy—who takes the initiative: scattering believers through persecution, commissioning Saul, and drawing Gentiles into his kingdom.
Just as Luke’s Gospel gives certainty about who Jesus is, Acts gives certainty about what Jesus is doing—fulfilling God’s promises through his apostles and his Church. From Peter to Paul, from Jerusalem to the ends of the earth, Acts traces an unbreakable chain of mission that began with God’s servant in Isaiah 49:6 and continues through us today.
