Job Description

Job Title: Videographer
Objective: Responsible for delivery of regular video projects to serve and multiply the ministry goals of St Helen’s.
To whom they report: Sam Manchester, Minister for Digital
Who reports to them / who are they responsible for: Digital volunteers
Context Location: St Andrew’s Tower / Studio

Opportunities

  • To develop the creative direction of our video content through contributing to, and creating, avenues of video content
  • Increasing autonomy according to experience and aptitude
  • Involvement in photography, social media, website development and graphic design.
  • Growth in personal knowledge of God through training and teaching received by all members of staff

Key Tasks

  1. To film and edit regular video content, including but not limited to:
    a) Preaching Matters videos (released monthly)
    b) Ministry Matters videos (as opportunities arise)
    c) Video content for seven key annual campaigns
  2. Create video content for a variety of channels - appropriate for web-hosting, social media engagement, event promotion etc
  3. Photographer for key events. Contributing to an ongoing bank of images to serve our promotion, web and social media content, and print media.
  4. Attendance at regular team meetings, to serve the vision and goals of the media team, and make constructive contributions to the improvement of the team and ministry
  5. An in-depth understanding of St Helen’s ministry goals fostered through attendance at midweek and Sunday services, and prayer meetings.

  • Participating in monthly church prayer supper
  • An ability to prioritise and meet deadlines

  • A firm understanding of St Helen’s theological position
  • A robust theology of media and communications
  • A firm understanding of how media serves the ministry and foci of St Helen’s.

Desirable qualifications, knowledge, and skills

  • Personal knowledge of and obedience to the Christian gospel
  • Able to work alongside others demonstrating Christian principles and behaviours
  • Experience and skill working with a variety of camera equipment
  • Proficiency with audio recording, lighting, filming, editing, and photography
  • Competence with video editing on Adobe Premier Pro, Final Cut Pro or equivalent
  • Familiarity with After Effects
  • Ability to shoot using a DSLR camera.
  • Competence in photography

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Accounts Assistant

Reports to: Senior Accountant and Management Accountant

Context/Location: St Helen’s Church office; full- or part-time position. (4 weeks paid holiday)

Overview
The accounts team at St Helen’s is responsible for three principal areas:

Discharge of the PCC’s requirement to prepare audited accounts, VAT returns and associated legal obligations;

The provision of management information to the Finance Committee and to departmental managers in a timely and accurate manner so as to enable strategic planning for the church’s ministry;

Adding value by streamlining our cost base and maximising income from revenue sources.

Key Tasks:

The Accounts Assistant is responsible for:

  1. Maintaining the suppliers’ database on Sage 50
  2. Timely processing of purchase invoices: includes appropriate authorisation by budget holders, correct nominal coding, posting to the ledger and filing.
  3. Preparing suppliers’ accounts for payment.
  4. Timely processing of staff expense claims and preparing them for payment – similar to purchase invoices. Includes communicating submission deadlines to staff.
  5. Processing and monitoring credit cards;
  6. Depending on applicant progress, the role could be expanded to include:
  7. Payment of suppliers and staff expenses.
  8. Quarterly VAT return (with help from Management Accountant).
  9. Providing analyses of income and expenditure of: e.g. restricted funds, weekends away, other activities as required.

Experience

  • Sound bookkeeping experience, preferably in purchase and nominal ledgers. Experience of Sage is useful but not essential. Comfortable working in Excel, although advanced knowledge is not required.

  • Able to work alongside others demonstrating Christian principles and behaviours.

  • Pro-active, flexible attitude.
  • Willingness to undertake any part of the accounts function in order to meet team objectives.
  • Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised and as part of a team.
  • Ability to prioritise and to meet deadlines.

  • A member of St Helen’s (and if not currently attending, willing to make St Helen’s their church family).
