St Helen's Gift Day

We are deeply grateful for the way Jesus is accomplishing his purposes across the diverse St Helen’s ministries as disciple-making disciples faithfully proclaim his saving gospel. Our prayer is that each of us will be prompted by God to give in a way that ensures the future of our ministry. Together, we can meet the immediate needs of the church and also prepare for exciting plans, including a new church plant this year and next year.

Our Gift Day need

To maintain our ongoing ministries this year (including supporting churches and ministries across the UK and internationally), we need to raise our income by an additional £1.2 million (or £100,000 per month). This vital giving will allow us to balance our budget, support our mission, and continue to grow.

How this can be achieved

We are trusting God for the following to meet our target:

  • 250 NEW givers committing to give £300 per month under Gift Aid by 1st February 2025, AND
  • a 10% increase in giving from our current financial partners by 1st February 2025.

We recognise that some of you may be able to give more, while others are in a position where they might have to give less. The important thing is for each of us to give what we can, prayerfully considering how the Lord is leading us to contribute.

If you’re new to giving…
If you’ve been part of St Helen’s since September/October 2024 (or longer) and haven’t yet started giving, please consider making a one-off gift in addition to setting up regular monthly giving starting February 2025. Every contribution makes a difference.

Our vision for 2025 and beyond

At St Helen’s, our vision is bold: we are committed to God’s work of the saving gospel of Jesus Christ being proclaimed across the financial heart of London and beyond to the diverse and varied communities of London, including through church plants, as well as through other churches and ministries across the UK and around the world. We are excited to partner in training up many gospel workers and planting new churches - in Clapham this year and, God willing, elsewhere in London in 2026. These initiatives require financial investment, and this Gift Day is crucial to ensuring we can continue meeting our present needs and stepping boldly into the future.

Why gift days matter

Gift days are more than a financial appeal—they are an opportunity to reflect on God’s goodness, to unite in prayer, and to consider how we can all share in providing for his work through St Helen’s Church. It’s a time for us to step out in faith, remembering that our giving is an act of worship and a way to advance the kingdom of God.

Giving is a response to the Lord’s provision, and it comes in many forms:

  • first time giving
  • increasing our regular giving
  • making a one-off gift
  • offering our time and prayers in support of the ministry.

Ways we contribute

Remember, giving is not just about money. We all contribute to the work of the Lord in different ways. For those who may be struggling financially, know that your prayers, time, and service are equally valued in the work of the gospel. If you are facing financial hardship and need support, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your congregation leader. We have a Hardship Fund to assist those in need.
