Where does hope come from when all hope appears to have died? In its absence, where can we find it? This perennial question of humanity lies behind the almost monotonous promises of a bright new future. But the only hope of lasting substance comes from God. He shows Ezekiel such hope comes by his word and through his Spirit. Such hope is sufficient to sustain radically changed societies and to hold out hope beyond the here and now, even at the point of death.
