Romans 8:31-39

The Christian’s favour: love lavished, enemies conquered

The ongoing reality of our own sin, together with the personal and corporate suffering of God’s people, can cause deep insecurity for believers. Paul’s aim in Romans is that his readers be unashamed of the gospel so they can join him in gospel proclamation. In this glorious conclusion to Romans 8, Paul returns repeatedly to the cross. Nothing and no one can separate us from him who loved us and gave his own Son for us.
