Paul's letter to the Romans launched the Reformation in Europe. It lay behind the major Christian revival that swept through England and the Americas in the 18th century. While the letter had a revolutionary effect on world events in the past, it still impacts the individual today. The apostle Paul says he writes so that his readers are strengthened for courageous Christian discipleship.
