The prayers of older Christians are often a source of wisdom, but the apostle Paul’s bold prayer for the Philippian church is in a league of its own. While thankful for the work God has done in them, he prays that they would never settle. Rather, he wants them to overhaul their thinking in a way that enables them to make better choices. If we understand the prayer rightly, will we dare to pray it?
