God’s king and his kingdom

Despite Saul’s death, David is still seven and a half years away from being king over all Israel. The ongoing narrative of David is still painstakingly exposing his character for us to see the shadow of David’s greater son. David is almost inhumanely humble; something that we might take for granted but is crucial in any good king.
